Urban&Civic has officially opened Newark's £100m Southern Link Road, now named Middlebeck Way, a major piece of strategic infrastructure that strengthens connectivity across the town and supports the long-term growth of Middlebeck.
The new route links the A1 and the A46, forming a key part of the masterplan for Middlebeck and delivering immediate benefits for local communities, businesses and the wider Newark.
Completed ahead of programme and on budget, Middlebeck Way will ease congestion, improve journey times and unlock the continued delivery of new homes and community facilities.
The project has been brought forward through strong and sustained partnership working, with significant contributions from Nottinghamshire County Council, Newark and Sherwood District Council, Homes England, central government, as well as our contractors and wider professional team.
For all involved, this has been a complex, multi-year undertaking, from early planning and funding agreements through to construction on site.
The opening of Middlebeck Way represents a major achievement and reflects the commitment, expertise and shared ambition of teams across Urban&Civic and our partners.
