The Exchange - creating a community co working space

05.03.23

Repurposing existing buildings reduces our carbon footprint, and in this instance, we’re proud of the new community space we’ve created for co-working, community events, and professionals to thrive at Houlton. Based at Dollman Farm in our local centre, over two floors, this welcoming space gives residents and local business a place to meet and work together. With quiet working pods and digital conference-enabled meeting rooms, there is something for everyone’s working style.

On the ground floor, the space is flexible to accommodate community events organised by local groups such as the WI or Houlton’s first community consortium called People of Houlton. Members of The Exchange book their own desk space, have access to free tea and coffee, and benefit from a host of member sessions and seminars.

In the shadow of the pandemic, working habits have changed for good and the amenities available on Urban&Civic developments can and should respond to trends and the needs of our residents. Having recently reached its first birthday, The Exchange will continue to connect people and spark ideas by creating the environment for economic growth within a growing new garden village.
