Local residents in Basingstoke discovered more about the history and nature of Manydown at an event focused on ecology and archaeology. There were talks from the County Archaeologist and Oxford Archaeology on the history of the area and findings from recent digs and visitors also had the opportunity to meet two red-tailed buzzards, and listen to a talk about the red kites often seen in the Manydown skies. Attendees learned about the new 250-acre countryside park, which will be a key feature of the upcoming Manydown development creating a vibrant, accessible, and ecologically rich landscape for both the local community and wildlife.
Thank you so much for organising the event last Saturday. It was fascinating to talk to the various exhibitors and a wonderful opportunity to catch up with local friends. Thank you for all of your hard work for our local community. It makes a huge difference.
