David Ainsworth
Development Manager

Having completed a Masters degree in real estate at Cass Business School, David joined Urban&Civic in October 2014 as Assistant Development Manager. He previously worked in residential development, focussing on premium elderly housing in London. Since joining Urban&Civic David has worked across several areas of the business with a particular focus on commercial development, and is led the delivery and sale of our 357 bed Hampton by Hilton hotel at Stansted Airport. David is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

Chi Amin
Management Accountant

Chi joined Terrace Hill in September 2011 and is responsible for accounts payable function of the group and assists with various other functions within finance. Chi has ten years’ experience in accounts payable and currently studying for the final Association of Chartered Certified Accountants paper.

Tom Baker
Assistant Development Manager

Tom joined Urban&Civic in 2009. He works on the Rugby and Newark projects and specialises in residential development and planning. He has a Masters degree from the University of Cambridge in Real Estate Finance and is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

Galina Bardarska
Visitor Centre Manager

Galina joined Urban&Civic in January 2017 as Visitor Centre Manager at the Houlton development in Rugby. With her background in communications and events, she is managing the first local centre of the development.  Galina is working with various local groups and communities to build an inspiring programme of activities at Houlton’s first community centre, The Barn, and create an exciting home for the new community. Galina is also supporting the delivery of the strategic marketing programme for the Rugby site.

Lee Barrett
Senior Project Manager

Lee joined Urban&Civic in October 2014 as Project Director for the Alconbury and Rugby developments. He has an honours degree in civil engineering, a post graduate diploma in geotechnical engineering and brings with him a wealth of experience gained whilst holding senior positions within the contracting, house building and development sectors.

Andy Brading
Property and Estate Manager

Andy joined Urban & Civic as Property and Estates Manager in April 2015 and is responsible for the property and estate management at the Alconbury Weald and Waterbeach developments. Before joining Urban&Civic, he was associate director with Savills and has handled the estate management and commercial agency at the Alconbury site since its acquisition in 2009 by Urban&Civic. Andy has over 15 years’ experience in commercial agency and property management working predominately in the Eastern region and is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

Management Accountant

Maria joined Urban&Civic in May 2015 and works on our strategic land projects. Maria holds various accounting experience and is studying for the final level of the Chartered Institute of Management Accounting examinations.

Peter Briggs
Technical Manager

Peter joined Urban&Civic in November 2016 as a Technical Manager to oversee the technical element of house building at Alconbury Weald, Waterbeach and Rugby. He has previously worked as a technical manager for developers such as Countryside Properties and Berkeley Homes. He has over 12 years’ experience working in both architectural practice and within technical teams for various developers and worked on the technical delivery of the RIBA Sterling award-winning Accordia Living site in Cambridge.

Rebecca Britton
Communications, Communities and Partnerships

Rebecca joined Urban&Civic in April 2011 as the second appointment to the Alconbury Weald project. With a background in marketing, media handling and stakeholder engagement for the Imperial War Museum at Duxford, Forestry Commission, and for regional and national Government, Rebecca leads the engagement of local business partners and communities in the development of Alconbury Weald, Waterbeach and Wintringham Park; leads the roll out of community facilities and projects across the 3 strategic sites, including our jobs and skills agenda; and coordinates local, national and overseas marketing and communications for Urban&Civic.

Adam Brooks
Senior Project Manager

Adam joined Urban&Civic in October 2015 as Senior Project Manager for the Manchester developments. Since 2001 he was a founding director of a North West based project management consultancy, which specialised in large business park re-development. He has an honours degree in construction, and started his career working for several national building contractors.

Stephanie Burton
Community Development

Steph has worked on a variety of community engagement projects in many different contexts. Her work has covered an array of interests and goals, ranging from active travel schemes with charity Living Streets, health and social care with Children’s Centres and the NHS, to something very different; digital making and coding competitions which give schools the opportunity to run their code on the International Space Station, with The Raspberry Pi Foundation. Steph joined Urban&Civic, at Alconbury Weald, in March 2017. She will be supporting new and existing residents to shape their community as it grows.

Frances Chan
Management Accountant

Frances is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. She joined Terrace Hill in January 2000, prior to which she worked for various medium sized accountancy firms. She is responsible for accounting, management, statutory reporting and administration.

Barry Crabb
Senior Project Manager

Barry is a Chartered Surveyor who joined Urban&Civic 2008. He is a senior member of the in-house Project Management team and has a BSc Hons. degree in Building Surveying. Barry has close to 20 years property experience and was previously employed by BNP paribas Real Estate.

Matt Croft
Project Manager

Matt joined Urban&Civic in May 2016 as Project Manager for the Newark development. He has a degree in quantity surveying & construction commercial management and is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.  Before joining Urban&Civic, Matt worked at the University of Lincoln delivering a number of major capital projects as senior cost manager.

Paul Cutler
Head of Master Planning and Design

Paul, an architect, joined Urban&Civic in January 2015. His unique role covers both development and design for the Alconbury Weald and Waterbeach developments. Paul practiced as a multi-disciplinary architect in the US for ten years before returning to the UK in 2008 to work with Lend Lease as a development project manager on the Athletes Village in Stratford. There he worked on a numerous legacy building types including an all-age academy, health centre and residential plots. Post-games, Paul was the lead for the masterplan and commercial building designs of The International Quarter in Stratford.

Joe Dawson 
Development Manager

Joe is a chartered surveyor and has a wide range of knowledge having worked in development, project management and corporate real estate.  Joe has worked at Rider Levett and Bucknall,and the Royal Mail where he was senior development manager responsible for residential and commercial development predominantly in London and the South East.  He has a Masters degree in real estate from Reading university and a BA hons business degree.  He joined Urban&Civic in August 2016 to work on the Alconbury Weald and Waterbeach strategic sites.

Carlo D’Emidio
Project Manager

Carlo joined Urban&Civic in November 2016 as Project Manager for the Waterbeach development. He has a degree in civil engineering and qualifications in project management. Carlo has over ten years’ experience in the residential and civil engineering sector and before joining Urban&Civic worked for Cannon Kirk Homes and the Ministry of Defence delivering a number of significant projects across the UK and Ireland.

Victoria Denny-Morley
Skills Lead

Torie joined Urban&Civic in January 2018 as Skills Lead. Prior to joining Urban&Civic Torie worked as a training and education specialist in the British Army. She has worked in a variety of roles ranging from leadership and management training to the analysis and design of bespoke training solutions. Torie is responsible for designing an Urban&Civic skills strategy.

Caroline Foster
Senior Development Manager

Caroline joined Urban&Civic in February 2018 as senior development manager to head up the Waterbeach development. Caroline has over 15 years’ experience in the industry, most recently leading the delivery of a prime residential scheme in London. Prior to this Caroline spent almost ten years at Lend Lease in a number of development and commercial roles on various mixed use schemes.

Peter Francis  
Director of Financial Planning and Reporting 

Peter joined Urban&Civic in August 2016. He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales having qualified with Deloitte & Touche. Prior to joining Urban&Civic, he worked for over 11 years at Minerva, ultimately as group financial controller.

Development Director

A chartered surveyor, Simon joined Terrace Hill in 2008 and specialises in retail development throughout the UK. Simon spent the past five years as a partner at Knight Frank in Leeds with previous employers including Gerald Eve and Christie and Co.

Project Finance

William joined Urban&Civic in February 2016 to support the delivery of our strategic land projects. Before joining Urban&Civic William worked in the healthcare industry on hospital redevelopment programmes as project accountant and client-side project manager.

Finance Assistant

Sakda joined Urban&Civic in January 2016 after graduating from the University of Essex with a degree in accounting and finance. He is a part qualified member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). Sakda assists with the payable function and assisting the other accountants.

Mary McDougall
Group Tax Accountant

Mary is a tax professional who joined Terrace Hill as group tax accountant in 2006 from Grant Thornton. Starting her tax career in HMRC she moved to KPMG as a corporate tax advisor before joining Grant Thornton where she obtained her tax qualification. In 2012 Mary was instrumental in obtaining a Business Low Risk rating from HMRC for the Terrace Hill Group. She is responsible for running the Glasgow office and is an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.

Olu is a part qualified accountant and studied economics and accounting at University of Southampton. Gary Ridgewell
Senior Project Manager

Gary joined Urban&Civic in February 2015 as Project Director for the Alconbury development. He previously held the position of construction director at the regional housing developer Weston Homes and has held senior management positions at Countryside Properties and Hill Partnerships. With over 15 years’ experience in the residential sector, he has been involved in the RIBA Sterling award-winning Accordia Living and strategic development’s such as the Great Kneighton estate in Cambridgeshire.

Paul Spensley

Paul is a chartered building surveyor who joined Terrace Hill in Summer 2012 as Project Manager and is based in the Urban&Civic Teesside Office. After 6 years pre-university experience as an architectural technologist Paul achieved a first class Honours degree in building surveying from the University of Northumbria before a 15 year spell with Durham based surveyors and architects Howarth Litchfield Partnership as a building surveyor and director.

Johanne Thomas
Communications, Communities and Partnerships

Johanne joined Urban&Civic from the Homes and Communities Agency where she led communications on some of the Midlands’ largest housing and regeneration projects. Prior to that she led the communications and engagement team for the government’s New Deal for Communities programme in North East Coventry. She also set up a communications social enterprise and advises a regeneration charity in Birmingham. Johanne is part of U&C’s Rugby Radio Station team leading stakeholder and community engagement.
