The business

Acquired by Urban&Civic in 2015, Catesby Estates is a specialist strategic land promotion and infrastructure business, focusing on the delivery of residential planning consents on predominantly greenfield sites and, ultimately the onward sale to housebuilders.

They work collaboratively with landowners to bring forward land to market with planning consent for housing, in order to deliver much needed, high quality new homes throughout the country.

Strategic land promotion

As a business solely focused on strategic land promotion and infrastructure delivery, they are well placed to fully assess land opportunities and understand the prospects of obtaining planning consent and the ability of quality housebuilders to deliver schemes which complement and enhance the area and local community.

There are six internal divisions focused on land, planning, technical delivery, design, community engagement and finance. This in-house expertise and policy of working in collaboration with landowners, councils and local stakeholders has built Catesby Estates a first-class reputation for bringing forward land for housing.

Land model

They identify sites which are suitable for residential development, then use their in-house expertise and financial resources to fund the land promotion. After obtaining planning permission the site is then marketed to housebuilders securing the highest possible return for the landowner.

Their sites range from 35–2,000 homes on predominately greenfield sites, with in-depth consideration given to infrastructure, community needs and the socio-economic benefits that new housing brings to an area.
